Yes, poor Old St David does get overshadowed by St Patrick, not sure why. Welsh beer is as good as Irish even if it isn't green! :) (Most other things in Wales are though.) It is celebrated in certain parts of the States though, including Ohio, and of course in Patagonia. LOL, buttercups are something quite different over here. A very small little yellow flower with glossy petals that if you hold under your chin shine like gold!
Hywela Lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13789711554354184386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8090555908155604548.post-73678954234404235772014-03-02T22:32:55.367+00:002014-03-02T22:32:55.367+00:00I live in the states and despite having St. Patric...I live in the states and despite having St. Patrick's Day on our calendar, poor St. David gets no acknowledgement at all here. Which seems sad. It seems like a really cool holiday. Plus, I love leeks and daffodils (aka buttercups if you're a "Yank.") lol!

Thanks for sharing. I learned something new. If you get the chance to visit Wales again, I think you'd enjoy it, especially mid and North Wales, which have many castles, as well as being full of myths and legends.Hywela Lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13789711554354184386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8090555908155604548.post-12000215056832021492014-03-02T16:28:25.996+00:002014-03-02T16:28:25.996+00:00Lyn, I loved this post and learning more about Wal...Lyn, I loved this post and learning more about Wales. I've only been barely into Wales on one tour. The information on St. David's Day was fascinating.
