BACKGROUND:
Having fulfilled the mission set by Apollo, Terpsichore the muse of dance is preparing to return to Olympus when she meets the mysterious Myrddin. Unaware of her goddess status, he invites her to share a meal with him and falls asleep by the campfire. She is lured towards a host of glimmering, evil red lights, and although she senses the danger, she is now without her powers and has no means of resisting them. Myrddin rescues her and holds her in his arm. This is a few passges on from last week's snippet .

Once more, his arms enfolded her. She felt the touch of his lips against her hair.

She tingled from head to foot, and a sweet ache throbbed deep within her. She molded her body to his, her breasts burning against his bare chest. Never before had she felt this way when a man kissed her...never had she wanted any man so much, never had she felt so nearly mortal. She felt his arousal, and closed her eyes in surrender. Then she heard his faint, ragged intake of breath as he ceased the kiss and released her.

Gently, he removed her hands from around his neck, holding them in both of his.

"I'm sorry, Cora. This is wrong."

If someone had slid a knife between her ribs the pain could not have been more intense, she closed her eyes, not wanting him to see the hurt in them.

"You know I am betrothed," he went on. "Forgive me. It was just...I was so relieved the Ellylldan didn't take you."

Silver Dagger Book Tours Celebration and #Giveaway

I am so pleased to be part of the Silver Dagger Book Tours Celebration this month!
I am one of the 'Silver Dagger' Tour hosts, and have also had a couple of tours with Maia myself. I can recommend her highly - not only is she unique in her pricing, a huge bonus when one is struggling to pay the bills on the very low income most writers get from their books these days, but she is lovely to work with, very approachable with great communication, and the graphics that go with her posts are distinctive and individual and make every post unique.

Congratulations on your second Anniversary,Maia!

Silver Dagger Book Tours is now 2
years old this month!

Believe it or not, Silver Dagger Book Tours was created and is mainly operated by just one person! I used to be just an internet crawler looking for new books and giveaways and stumbled upon book tours. After indulging in many dozens of tours, I decided I'd like to try my hand at blogging in my spare time (with absolutely no blogging experience at all!) I was a book blogger for several companies (and still am) and stuck with it for over 3 years. In that time, I learned
all the ropes and became a pretty efficient blogger, but there was still something missing- I wanted to make my posts stand out a bit! So, I started creating small graphics like “about the book” and the other standard graphics that you see in all my tours nowadays and started jazzing my posts up. I became pregnant with my second child in the fall of 2015 and me and my hubby decided to try to purchase
our first home finally, so I quit my waitressing job to pack up everything for the move and never looked back! It took several months of trying to get the ball rolling and was quite difficult at first to get authors to tour with me. Thus, I had an idea to let everybody pay what they can comfortably afford instead of set rates as I thought what some other companies charged were just outrageous! Since then, I have done over 1000 tours and worked with hundreds of amazing authors – many who come back for repeat tours! I have 2-3 tours kick off every weekday with occasional tours on the weekends and EVERY tour is required to have a giveaway so readers can gain a little something and have fun while they enjoy learning about new books. I have an absolutely amazing group of bloggers that share my tours on their sites and really couldn't have gotten this far without their continued support and would like to thank each and every one of them! Ya'll are amazing! I also have two assistants that help me check links and keep up with blogger activity – Janet, who's been with me over a year, and Laurie, who is a new addition. Ya'll ladies are spectacular and I couldn't do it without
you! Absolutely everything else is completely run solely by me though and I really enjoy organizing tours and helping new authors get discovered. I don't discriminate and host ALL fictional genres in ALL age ranges as me and my bloggers have a broad range of readers that enjoy many different genres. After two years of astronomical tours, I am going stronger than ever now and growing on a daily basis with plans to continue hosting tours for many many years!

A third generation local of the historic town of Fredericksburg, TX, I was born and raised among the rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country where the beauty of the landscape is breathtaking and town is  famous for the Main Street historic
shopping district, the best peaches in the world, wildflowers and wine. I really can't imagine living anywhere else! A country girl through and through, I grew up hunting, fishing and digging for Indian artifacts, all the while enjoying the many rivers and swimming holes around town. I'm a stay at home mom with three beautiful boys, ages 9, 2, and 1 that encompass my entire world! A bookaholic from birth, I have always had a deep passion for reading and spend many late nights devouring books into the wee hours of the morning. My “real” book collection numbers over 3000 books and take up an entire small room in our house with custom bookshelves built by my husband that I call my “book cave”. I've been building this collection since my childhood and will keep on adding to it for the rest of my life. Of course, I also have a similar collection of ebooks as well as I finally went digital a few years ago. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing with my kids, doing DIY renovation projects with my husband, cooking, and relaxing on my back porch with a good cup of coffee while I watch the massive axis deer herd come through the yard.

"You're safe now, Cora, I won't let anything happen to you."

He mistook her longing, her desire, for fear, could he not feel the beating of her heart, or did he put that down to fright as well? She took a deep breath, she was a goddess, she would not be seen to be weak and frail, like a mortal woman.

She drew back from him a little, and gazed up into his eyes. "I know, and I thank you for...saving...me from..."

The words stuck in her throat as she once again lost herself in his eyes. His face wore such a gentle expression, so much concern in his eyes, his lips were so close to hers.

"From what, Cora? Did you know they were the Ellylldan - do you realize how much danger you were in?" He brushed the hair from her face with the back of his hand.

(Note - the Elliyldan are pronounced 'Elch-chilch-dan' as near as I can get to the Welsh!)

Alien Contact for Runaway Moms - Book Tour and #Giveaway

I'm so pleased to be part of the Release tour for Alien Contact for Runaway Moms, written by Ed Hoornaert, a fellow Sunday Snippeteer. This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. The author will be awarding a $15 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.

When her abusive lover tries to take custody of her baby, Audra flees where even he can’t follow: the aliens’ forbidden cities underneath Kwadra Island.

But can the safety she wants for her daughter survive a search party, violent alien criminals—and the love of an emotionally damaged Kwadran?
Read an Excerpt:

“Are you sure you want to do this?” As soon as the words fled his mouth, he realized how stupid they were. Of course she was sure. Nothing could stop such an elemental force of nature. She was Spirit Mother, walking amongst humans to teach him, Tal Pelletier, some of the many lessons he needed to learn.

“I…” She caressed her baby’s head. “No, I’m not sure. I lost all my certainties somewhere back in the tunnel.”

Belying her words, she reached for one of the massive, marrel-plastic door handles. Pulled. It was too heavy for her.

When he grasped the handle to help, his finger grazed hers. She froze. She was a slight woman with delicate, haunted features; she had to tip her head back to meet his eyes, almost as though asking for a kiss. Just as he needed her spirit’s strength, she needed his physical strength—but not his lust, which was tainted with anger and despair. Never that.

So he kept his lips to himself. Together, they pulled open a door onto the ghosts of a past that had never existed.

He blinked. Although the cavern’s lights were dim, they were too bright after the ventilation tunnel. The cavern smelled and felt different. The air in the ventilation tunnel was raucous and angry, but out here it was still with resignation.

Audra moved, startling him. She touched her forehead, the baby on her chest, then both shoulders. He puzzled over her movements for a moment but then recognized the sign of the cross. The gesture was perfect, showing that she realized the mystical power of the world of his ghosts. She was indeed a Spirit Guide, sent to help him overcome his demons.

In addition to novelist, he has been a teacher, technical writer, salesman, janitor, and symphonic oboist.

After having 30 different addresses in his first 28 years, his rolling stone slowed in the mountains of British Columbia and stopped in Tucson, Arizona. His high school sweetheart has been his wife for more years than he has fingers and toes to count. Ed and Judi have three sons, a daughter, a mutt, and the Milky Way Galaxy's most adorable grandsons.

For the first time in her eternal life, she knew fear.

Then strong arms encircled her, swung her round.

"Cora, look at me." She gazed into two pools of azure blue, filled with concern, and a pale face set in resolve, still she had an irresistible urge to look at those weird, flickering lights.

She turned her head, and at the same moment, there was a flash like lightning. The ground behind her burst into a wall of blue flame, it blotted out everything, engulfing the demon lights and the hideous forms that a moment before had lured her onward.

"Look at me, look at me...don't look back again."

Before she could reply, he swept her up and carried her back toward the campfire.

Eos in her chariot had started her journey across the sky and the pearly light showed their camp and the two horses grazing nearby. Never had anything looked so welcome, never had Terpsichore felt so safe in a man's arms.
