Snippet Sunday Facebook Group
Last week's snippet was from Starquest, Volume 1 in the Destiny Trilogy (although all three books can be read as 'standalones') introduced Jess, who is rescued from her crippled ship by the starship Destiny, commanded by Jon Quinlan. Gradually she gets to know the crew and grows to like and respect Jon and most of the crew while still being a little unsure of how far she can actually trust them.
Snippet from Chapter 1 of Starquest (slight editing for clarity and to keep within the word count)

Nice little hook at the end. :-) Best wishes on the RONE. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa, glad you liked it - and thanks for the good wishes re: RONE!
ReplyDeleteThat last sentence raised the hair on the back of my neck. Uh oh. Extending my best wishes, too, on the RONE.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Diane, and for the good wishes. So many great books competing but it would be fantastic to get through to the next round!
DeleteSounds like both of them have secrets to hide. Very intriguing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting, Jessica. Without giving too much away, Jess is the one who's hiding things - but she has good reason!
DeleteHappy mother's day to you too! Love the snippet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kimberly, and to you! So glad you liked the brief 'taster'.
DeleteI'm intrigued... I liked the line about 'his scrutiny'. Delicious detail.

ReplyDeleteLOL, that would be telling!:) Thanks for visiting and commenting, Allyson!
ReplyDeleteInteresting glimpse into the other people she interacts with. Makes me very curious what Kerry is thinking, what will happen next...all good stuff. Great snippet!
ReplyDeleteThanks Veronica, glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteYou do such a great job describing this enigmatic guy! And now I'm wondering what's bothering her?
ReplyDeleteThanks Christina, he's actually my favourite character in the whole trilogy - I'll post the next bit next week!
DeleteDon't leave us hanging! What a great tease of insight into his character.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy, I'm glad the suspense works - more next week!
DeleteThe last line is intriguing. Congrats on the Rone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Elaine, and also for the congrats, fingers crossed!
DeleteHmm... I wonder if she's misreading his attention. It'd be interesting if he's watching her for some other reason!
ReplyDeleteThat's very astute, Caitlin! :) He is definitely watching her on more than one level!
DeleteOkay, I'm curious...and I think I met his twin some years ago. There absolutely wasn't going to be any personal chatter, ever!
ReplyDeleteKerry has a twin? Wow, that must be a whole 'nuther story! :) And you're so right about the personal chatter - or lack of it!
DeleteNot the only thing? I'm curious to know more. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Karen - more next week! She has a lot on her mind at the moment!
DeleteWhat else did she find? I want to know more! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, thanks for stopping by, ah who said she'd actually found anything - yet! :)
