BELOVED ENEMY has garnered some great five and four star reviews and I just had a lovely four and a half star review on amazon, by Kam  https://www.superkambrook.com/ "The best science fiction tv shows are the ones that have you eagerly anticipating the following week's episode or have you zooming through the commercials because wading through 2.5 minutes of ads feels like eternity... pure torture. When a show is that good, you wish for a few more minutes. When a scifi/fantasy book is equally grand, you crave several more pages. When I was nearing the end of Beloved Enemy, I kept hoping 20-30 pages would magically appear -- much like things in the book. No such luck though. However, despite my wish not being granted, I was thoroughly satisfied with everything I did read. Each chapter in Beloved Enemy contained enough scifi, mystery elements/creatures that maintained my attention from the beginning to end..."
and Kam ends up by saying "And that's all you'll get from me. To find out more.... read the damn book. No seriously, read it. It's a page-turner, for sure!"

Thank you so much Kam!

Springtastic blog tour - Spring Procrastination!

Welcome to the Springtastic Blog Tour. A group of 'Highway Cafe' Authors have got together to bring you a reading extravaganza with prizes to be won Yep, I knew that would get your attention. Several authors are giving individual prizes and there is also a grand prize of a basketful of Ebooks to be won - including mine, which is my fantasy novella, Dancing with Fate.  More details at the end of this post.

Now, I hear you ask - where does the spring procrastination come in?

Well, I don't have to tell you what spring means, do I? daffodils and bluebells,

little lambs in the fields, and there's that strange bright light in the sky - the sun is out.

My horses are pleased to have their rugs off at last, needing lots of brushing to get all that winter hair off and of course I want to spend as much time with them as I can -

and meanwhile my little dog is raring to go on longer 'walkies'...

...and I  have a whole lot of new seedlings that need planting if we're to have any flowers in the garden this summer!

All this means I am very behind in writing my next novel - hence the
'procrastination'! *Sigh* it's not that I don't want to write - I do, but there are just so many things that demand my time in spring. Can anyone tell me how to get another eight hours into the day?

Anyway, what you really want to know is how to win a basket of books, don't you!
The Easter Bunny lost some eggs during his delivery, and he needs your help to find them! Today, April, 25th, and 26th, visit the participating Highway Cafe members’ sites to find the missing eggs. There are some hidden on this blog. when you find them, just leave a comment to let me know, then visit the Highway Cafe Blog Site: http://transcanadaromancewriters.blogspot.ca/2017/04/spring-tastic-tour.html  to find the other members taking part and visit their blogs too. When you've finished egg hunting, go back to the Highway Cafe Blog site and leave a comment listing the blogs where you found the eggs and commented.

I'm also 'full of the joys' of spring because the third book in the 'Destiny' Trilogy' is nominated for the RONE Awards in the SF/Fantasy category. I've already mentioned this in a previous post but in case you haven't come across this book before, although it's the third book in the series, each book is intended to be read as a 'stand alone', although of course I hope if you read one, you'll enjoy meeting up with some of the characters in the other two. Here's the blurb:

Blurb:
Cat Kincaid is obsessed with killing the man she believes is responsible for the torture and death of her sister, but when she eventually catches up with him, survival becomes a greater priority than revenge.

Kerry Marchant, haunted by memories, regret and self-blame, shields himself from the pain of the past by committing himself totally to the starship, Destiny, of which he is part owner. However, the beautiful, red haired woman who reminds him of his lost love, and who he suspects is working for a corrupt regime, represents a possible threat not only to the ship, but to his heart.

Marooned on an inhospitable planet, they need to work together to stay alive, fighting not only unknown assailants, but their growing attraction. But how can they learn to trust each other when he has vowed never to get close to a woman again, and she made a solemn pledge to destroy him?

BENEATH THE NIGHT
by Jen Colly
Pub date: 4/25/2017
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Sometimes survival means surrendering everything . . .
Lord Navarre Casteel wakes from a long sleep to find the vampire city he rules forever changed and his future in the hands of a mysterious beauty who offers her life for his. Fiery-haired Cat survives his feeding, fueling Navarre’s body and mind—as well as his suspicion that she is one of the Forbidden—a lethal mix of vampire and human blood. Yet that doesn’t stop the throb of Navarre’s desire, the feeling that she is destined to be his mate, to hell with consequences. . . .

A solitary fighter sworn to protect the children in her charge, Cat never expects to feel so much for Navarre in the face of his savage feeding. Which is why his offer of protection is nearly her undoing. For how can she let down her guard when she has always walked alone? But Cat has never faced an enemy like the one she faces now, never felt such a powerful need to surrender to the force of love . . .

EXCERPT
Peace. He didn’t care for the word, didn’t believe in its existence. The  concept seemed possible, and certainly desired, but he’d yet to witness it in his own life. Even when Balinese had been under Lord Navarre’s rule, the city prospering and harmonious, Devlin Savard had not been at peace.

Savard glanced over his shoulder for the second time tonight. Something had him on edge. He scanned the tree line at his back. Nothing. From where he stood, high on a hillside, the impressive château below him seemed somehow benign. Yet it concealed the entrance to Balinese, a vast underground city of vampires. The forest surrounding the château took it a
step further, cloaking the stone structure from any who might wander near. Winter was well on the way, and though snow had yet to fall, it would come soon enough. The château had been sealed and prepped months ago, and only in the last few weeks had the chill of the night permeated the ground and seeped into the city below. Savard cocked his head slightly. A low ripple of energy in the air sent his senses on high alert, rousing survival instincts that had refused to fade
over time. Someone, or something, approached.

He curled his fingers around the hilt of his sword, but then the shift in energy became substantial and settled at his right side. Heavy, like waves on the ocean. Then, though the air around him was already cold, a chilled patch of air pushed toward him.

Report,” Savard commanded. Keir dropped out of his invisible Spirit form and appeared at Savard’s right.
You’re damn hard to sneak up on,” Keir said, and then suddenly thinking better of his words, he raised his hands in mock surrender. “Not that I was sneaking.” Savard nodded, but said nothing. It was best others didn’t know how
Savard’s talents worked, especially when he knew of no other who possessed a similar gift.

Jen Colly is the rare case of an author who rebelled against reading assignments throughout her school years. Now she prefers reading books in a series, which has led her to writing her first paranormal romance series: The Cities Below. She will write about anything that catches her fancy, though truth be told, her weaknesses are pirates and vampires. She lives in Ohio with her supportive husband, two kids, one big fluffy dog, and four rescued cats.
