Now, I hear you ask - where does the spring procrastination come in?
Well, I don't have to tell you what spring means, do I? daffodils and bluebells,
little lambs in the fields, and there's that strange bright light in the sky - the sun is out.
My horses are pleased to have their rugs off at last, needing lots of brushing to get all that winter hair off and of course I want to spend as much time with them as I can -
and meanwhile my little dog is raring to go on longer 'walkies'...
...and I have a whole lot of new seedlings that need planting if we're to have any flowers in the garden this summer!
All this means I am very behind in writing my next novel - hence the
Anyway, what you really want to know is how to win a basket of books, don't you!

I'm also 'full of the joys' of spring because the third book in the 'Destiny' Trilogy' is nominated for the RONE Awards in the SF/Fantasy category. I've already mentioned this in a previous post but in case you haven't come across this book before, although it's the third book in the series, each book is intended to be read as a 'stand alone', although of course I hope if you read one, you'll enjoy meeting up with some of the characters in the other two. Here's the blurb:
Blurb:
Cat Kincaid is obsessed with killing
the man she believes is responsible for the torture and death of her sister,
but when she eventually catches up with him, survival becomes a greater
priority than revenge.
Kerry Marchant, haunted by memories,
regret and self-blame, shields himself from the pain of the past by committing
himself totally to the starship, Destiny, of which he is part owner. However,
the beautiful, red haired woman who reminds him of his lost love, and who he
suspects is working for a corrupt regime, represents a possible threat not only
to the ship, but to his heart.
Marooned on an inhospitable planet,
they need to work together to stay alive, fighting not only unknown assailants,
but their growing attraction. But how can they learn to trust each other when
he has vowed never to get close to a woman again, and she made a solemn pledge
to destroy him?

Love the spring pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anita, did you find the eggs?
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, Lyn! Your horses and dog are beautiful. I know what you mean about so much to do this time of year, yet so little time, lol. Don't fret too much, it will all get done eventually :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Darlene - and kudos for organising this 'hop' and Easter Egg hunt, such fun!
DeleteWonderful to see all you furry babies enjoying the welcome arrival of spring.
ReplyDeleteHi Gini, thanks for visiting, yes ther furbabies have been enjoying some much needed sunshine!
ReplyDeleteHi Lyn, if you discover where to find the extra 8 hours, let me know. The little buggers have evaded me for years!! Love your post and very much enjoyed the pictures!
ReplyDeleteHi Tena - thanks so much for stopping by, glad you enjoyed the pictures - and I'm still looking for those pesky 8 hours! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I am SO jealous! Convincing my parents to retire to a farm so I get to enjoy it without all the hard work. So many cute faces!
ReplyDeleteP.s - Love the cover! Good luck!!
P.p.s - Found those eggies on your sidebar!
Hi Ruby - no need to be jealous. Unfortunately I don't have a farm either, although I do live in the country, but my horses have to be kept quite a long way from where I live as we rent the land they're on so it's about a half hour's journey each way every day to get to them - but I live in hopes that one day I'll have a windfall and be able to buy a little farm of my own. Animals are a lot of hard work, but they're worth it! Thanks for the kind comments on my cover, I love it too. It was designed by Rae Monet!
ReplyDeleteooh, forgot to say, good luck in the contest, glad you found the eggs!
DeleteOh how I envy you having horses! But the rest of it (about so much to do) is very familiar. I don't think there's an answer :( but let's enjoy it anyway :) M. S.
ReplyDeleteHi MS. Yes, I consider myself very lucky to be able to have my two equine furbabies, although they mean sacrificing things like vacations and meals out, but they're worth it. I've been crazy about horses for as long as I can remember and it took me five years to save for my first one when I left school! I think you're right, there's no answer to everything that spring calls us to do, I think sometimes we just have to say 'For the next hour I'm going to write!' and stick to it. :)
DeleteYour days do sound full. Congratulations on your title finagling in the RONE contest.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Linda. Yes, I never have time to be bored, that's for sure! Thanks also for the congrats, I'd love to get through to the next round so I'm just hoping folks will be kind enough to vote for me next week.
DeleteProcrastination is my middle name in the spring, summer, and fall. In the winter, despair is my middle name, but that's another story. So many wonderful things to do in the spring even though I love to write. I'm behind, too. Good luck to us both as we try to meet those deadlines.
ReplyDeleteHi Sorcha
ReplyDeletePhew - I'm glad I'm not the only one. Yes, good luck, let's hope we can beat this procrastination thing! :)
