BACKGROUND:
Having fulfilled the mission set by Apollo, Terpsichore the muse of dance is preparing to return to Olympus when she meets the mysterious Myrddin. She is lured into a bog by the evil Ellilldan, the fire demons, without her powers, and has no means of resisting them. Myrddin rescues her and although there is a mutual attraction between them, Myrddin is betrothed to another. Before she can return to Olympus, a messenger fom Apollo informs her that Myrddin is in danger and she needs to stay with him.
Last week's snippet ..."Where did you say your home was?" How many times had he asked Cora that question, and how many times had she avoided giving him a direct answer?
"I didn't, but I'm travelling north, too." He knew she lied --why could she not trust him with the truth?
"Indeed, then it would seem pointless to travel alone."
"If you can keep up with me."
He barely had time to mount Harri before Cora sped off at a gallop. "Come on Harri, are you going to let her beat you?" Harri stretched his neck and took off after her, the mare was fast but Harri would catch her. She could ride all right, but at this rate, the horses would be exhausted before noon.

Hopefully she can lead him away from danger. :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully - but danger may be where they least expect it!
DeleteShe's leading him a merry chase, isn't she? But as long as he's curious, he'll follow and she'll be able to keep him safe. Nice snippet, Lyn!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, he certainly will! Thanks, Nancy!
DeleteA nice lighter hearted moment! Enjoyed the snippet...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, veronica.
DeleteScary things are about to happen. Sit tight and carry on. Thanks, Hywela.
ReplyDeleteYep, you're right there, Charmaine!
DeleteTrust you to cast the lighthearted moment of bonding as a horse race.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks Ed.
DeleteThe chase is on! :)
ReplyDeleteI seems it is! :)
DeleteA very nice moment between them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine!
DeleteI feel for the horses... but this also sounds like fun! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy. Don't worry, both horses love a good gallop and Myrddin and Cora are far too caring to overtax them!
ReplyDeleteA fun interlude But it makes me think it's going to be short-lived and danger will catch them unawares.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to sign up this week. http://dianeburton.blogspot.com/
I think you're right, Diane, there's more than one danger lying in wait for them.
